When The Tanning Hut introduced the KBL P9S sunbed to their lineup, they unknowingly launched a local sensation. The sunbed’s pink exterior lighting immediately earned it the nickname “Barbie,” and the name stuck. More than a year later, “Barbie” is still a household name in their small town, with clients referring to it as if it were a celebrity.
SEEING the impact Barbie had, the Buckhannon, WV, salon doubled down on the excitement by later introducing the KBL K11 Air Loft, customizing the exterior lighting in blue and naturally dubbing it “Ken.” The response was just as electric.
